Book an Appointment

Do you need an interpreter?

  • Language interpreting – we are able to arrange either telephone or face-to-face foreign language interpretation for your consultation.
  • Deaf interpreting – we are able to arrange for a sign language interpreter for either video or face to face appointments.

As we need advance notice to arrange interpreters, if you need an interpreter, please do not use our online booking tool to make your appointment.  Please call our Patient Services team who will be able to help you. Extended appointments are given to allow for interpretation.

Book an appointment

Where appropriate we offer both telephone and face to face appointments and you will be given the option to choose. In some cases, you will need to be examined by a clinician and will not be given the option of a telephone appointment.

Ways to book

Online

Where possible please use our online booking tool:

You will be asked to complete a short questionnaire which will be assessed to match you with the correct clinician for your needs. If we see that you need an urgent appointment with us today, you will be able to book immediately online.

Telephone
  • Please call 01869 249222 if you are unable to request an appointment online.

Nurse and Healthcare Assistant appointments

We are able to pre-book appointments with our nurses and healthcare assistants and our Patient Co-ordinators will advise whether a telephone or face to face appointment is needed.  For some reviews or services, you may be asked to complete an online form prior to your appointment  – pill checks, travel advice and vaccinations, and asthma and COPD for example.

Please call on our dedicated booking line between 2pm to 5pm Monday to Friday to make a nurse or Healthcare Assistant appointment – 01869 362922

Sickness Certificates (Fit Notes)

You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Home Visits

Please be aware that our GPs will always call to assess the home visit request first.

If you need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 11am.

Telephone: 01869 249222

If you are housebound or too ill to visit the Practice, your GP may book a home visit with you. We will only visit you at home if your medical condition requires it and your GP will decide how urgently a visit is needed.

As an alternative, we may direct the Primary Care Visiting Service (PCVS) to attend in the first instance and their paramedic will liaise with our GP to determine the appropriate treatment for your needs.

You can also be visited at home by a District Nurse if you are referred to them by your GP, and you should also be visited at home by the Health Visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with us and have a child under five years.

Blood Tests

We operate a walk-in blood test clinic every Monday to Friday between 8am and 10am (excluding Bank Holidays). These clinics are for our adult (over 16) patients only.

Some important conditions apply:

  • The blood test must have been requested by your GP or the hospital, if requested by the hospital you’ll need to bring in the form that you’ve been given
  • These sessions are designed to be quick walk in clinics, if you know you’re likely to need a longer appointment or would prefer one, then please call to book a timed appointment
  • An appointment should be booked if you’re a patient who’s uneasy about the process or you have experienced difficulty when asked to give a blood sample in the past

If you need an appointment for your blood test, please call on our dedicated booking line between 2pm to 5pm Monday to Friday on 01869 362922

Appointment reminder service

Please ensure with have up to date contact details for you so we can send you an appointment reminder for pre-booked appointments.

This also allows us to contact you about annual review reminders, changes to your appointment, and updating medical records.

We are increasingly using email rather than text message to contact patients as it allows us to send attachments and more information and because we no longer receive funding for text messages which are a significant cost for the practice.

Chaperones

If you are attending alone but would like to have a chaperone during your consultation, please let our Patient Services team know when booking your appointment.

Please give us as much notice as possible so we can offer your appointment to someone else.
