Building Accessibility

General. Our modern building has been designed to maximise accessibility, with wide corridors and doors, and a low level reception desk. There are disabled toilets on both levels, and a lift is provided for access to the first floor. Four disabled parking bays are located immediately outside our front door for patients and visitors who are less mobile.

Interpreters

We have access to both language interpreters and sign language interpreters.

Language Interpreter.  Please advise our Patient Services if a launguage interpreter is required for your consultation.  The Interpretation is normally provided via a telephone. With advanced notice a interpreter may be arranged to attend the face to face consultation.

Sign Langauge Interpreter for Deaf Patients. We are delighted to enable British Sign Language users to contact us using a Sign Language interpreter, through the InterpretersLive! service, provided by Sign Solutions. 

Please advise our Patient Services if a a sign language interpreter is required for your consultation. This is arranged through a video link.  In addition, you can request a sign interpreter directly with the provider prior to contacting the Practice – here the interpreter calls the Practice on your behalf, whilst you have a video link with the interpreter.

The InterpretersLive! service is available, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

Accessible Information Standards

The Accessible Information Standard tells organisations how they should make sure that disabled patients receive information in formats that they can understand and receive appropriate support to help them to communicate.  All organisations that provide NHS or adult social care must follow the Accessible Information Standard by law. These standard include making sure that people get information in different formats if they need it, such as: large print, braille, easy read, email etc.
