Patient Participation Group

The Practice has a Patient Participation Group (PPG) which has been running since 2011.  Any person registered with the practice can take part in the group and we are keen to have a wide range of patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Our PPG is a group of patients that meet regularly with the Practice (usually with at least one of the GP Partners and/or the Practice Manager) to discuss the services that the practice offers and how they could be improved to ensure that the patient experience is as good as it could be, and that the health of the local community is improved.

Meetings are held about four times a year, mainly in late afternoons or early evening and usually last about 1-1½ hrs.

During the time we have been running we have compiled a survey to get patient’s views on the practice and suggestions of things they would like to see happen.  Some of the things that have been influenced by patient’s requests are the television screens in the waiting room and the re-upholstery of the chairs.  In addition, PPG members have ran Macmillan Coffee Mornings and help us with the running of our Saturday morning Flu Clinics.

You will also find more information about PPGs alongside matters of interest and sources of information on the Healthwatch Oxfordshire website.

Virtual Patient Group

Don’t have time to come to meetings?

Do you have any ideas about how to improve the practice?

Then join our ‘Virtual Patient Group

We realise that many patients are unable to attend meetings due to pressure from work, family or studies, but may want to have a say in what we do.  We need and value the input from all patients, especially those who are busy, or with children, or who care for someone.  If you join our ‘virtual group’ we will keep in touch is our Virtual Patient Group portal or by email and telephone, and you can still play an important role in our PPG.

What do PPGs do?

  • They provide an independent patient view to help the Practice identify areas of improvement.
  • Help the practice to foster links with the local community.
  • Help promote health matters (for example by running events at the surgery).
  • Influence the provision of other health and social services provided locally.
  • Assist in patients taking more responsibility for their health.
  • Carry out research into the views of those who use the practice.
